Validating your job feed is an essential step to ensure your jobs are ready for advertising with Wonderkind. A validated feed confirms that every listing is complete, accurate, and properly structured, so its AI can read the data, map it to categories, and distribute roles efficiently across multiple advertising channels.
A validated feed guarantees that jobs are advertised as intended. Without validation, listings may fail to publish or miss critical targeting opportunities.
Let’s get started 🚀
Feed Structure Overview
Your job feed is usually provided in XML format (CSV can be supported in some cases). It contains all job details that will be imported into the platform for validation and distribution.
To ensure jobs are processed correctly, certain elements must be included in every feed. The table below lists the required elements and their purpose:
Element | Description |
<title> | Job title only. Avoid adding contract type, location, or extra text. |
<category> | Job function or category for AI mapping. |
<company> | Company or brand name. Keep it simple and recognizable. |
<location> | City or region where the role is based. |
<country> | Country of the job (ISO code preferred). |
<referencenumber> | Unique identifier for the job. Must remain the same after updates. |
<url> | Direct link to the job description or application page. |
<image> / <logo> | Company logo or relevant creative asset. Must meet image format requirements for social ads |
TIP: The more optional fields you include, the better it’s AI can target audiences and optimize ad delivery. |
NOTE: For more information on how to analyze your XML/CSV feed and map fields to Inspire’s standard fields, refer to this document. |
Validation Process
The validation process ensures your feed is complete and accurate. Each step checks different aspects of your XML/CSV file to confirm that jobs can be properly imported, displayed, and advertised.
The table below shows the five key steps and what happens at each stage:
Step | What Happens |
1. Schema Check | Confirms that the XML feed is well-formed and follows Wonderkind’s structure. |
2. Field Verification | Ensures all required elements are present and correctly formatted. |
3. Content Review | Detects placeholder text (e.g., “TBD”), overly long titles, or missing descriptions. |
4. Asset Check | Verifies that logos/images meet the required format, size, and accessibility. |
5. AI Mapping | Confirms job titles and categories can be recognized for accurate targeting. |
Validation Outcomes
Once validation is complete, the platform checks for errors or missing details. If requirements aren’t met, jobs may fail to advertise as intended.
The table below outlines each validation stage, what is checked, and the result if the feed is invalid:
Validation Stage | Check Performed | Result if Invalid |
Schema | XML structure | Feed rejected |
Mandatory Fields | Job title, company, reference number, URLs, etc. | Job excluded from campaigns |
Assets | Logo/image format & size | Image may fail to display in ads |
Mapping | Category & title clarity | Reduced ad targeting accuracy |
INFO: If any mandatory field is missing or invalid, that job will not pass validation and cannot be advertised. |
Troubleshooting & Best Practices
If jobs are rejected, check for these common problems and follow best practices to improve feed quality.
Category | Details |
Common Issues | - Missing or duplicate reference numbers - Invalid or broken URLs - Incorrect image sizes - Location missing country - Placeholder text in titles |
Best Practices | - Always include both mandatory and enhanced fields - Use ISO codes for countries and languages - Optimize logos for social ads - Validate URLs before uploading - Re-validate feeds regularly |
INFO: Clients who update and validate their feeds weekly see fewer rejected jobs and higher campaign accuracy. |
