This guide explains the main requirements and specifications for creating and submitting custom overlays for your campaigns.
It covers essential guidance on SVG formatting, supported design elements, dynamic text, and logo placement to help ensure compatibility and consistent, high-quality results.
Let’s get started 🚀
Current Limitations
Only one overlay per workspace is allowed.
Existing overlays must be removed before requesting a new one.
Custom overlays cannot be edited within the platform.
Users must provide a final SVG design file.
Only one request can be processed at a time per workspace.
Request Statuses
Status | Description |
Submitted | Request has been sent and is queued for review. Can still be removed. |
Processing | Design team is working on it (3–5 business days). Cannot be removed. |
Ready | Overlay is live and available for use in campaigns. |
SVG Requirements
Parameter | Specification |
File Format | SVG only |
Maximum Size | 1 MB |
Background | No background image allowed |
Embedded Images | Not allowed (no PNG/JPG inside SVG) |
Shapes | Flattened shapes recommended |
Text | Do not outline text (keep font data) |
Best Practices
Keep the file lightweight by flattening shapes before export.
Ensure all elements are vector-based.
Always preserve font properties (name, size, weight).
Fonts
Supported fonts include:
Crimson Text, Fira Sans, IBM Plex Mono, IBM Plex Sans, Inconsolata, Inter, Lato, Lora, Merriweather, Merriweather Sans, Montserrat, Nunito, Nunito Sans, Open Sans, Poppins, Raleway, Roboto, Source Code Pro, Source Sans Pro, Work Sans.
NOTE: Canva is not recommended, as it converts text into vector paths, removes font information, and can greatly increase file size. If used, the exact font name, size, and weight for each text element must be shared separately via email or support.
Overlay Elements
Your overlay can include the following elements:
Parameter | Specification |
Shapes | Rectangles, circles, rounded corners, custom shapes |
Icons | Vector icons or graphic elements |
Static Text | Fixed phrases such as “We’re hiring!” |
Dynamic Text | Placeholders replaced with job data |
Logo Placeholder | Area reserved for company logo |
Best Practices
Combine static and dynamic elements strategically.
Use clear placeholders for dynamic content.
Maintain visual clarity and hierarchy in design.
NOTE: Consider the type of images your overlay will appear on. If your logo may be difficult to see on certain backgrounds, we recommend using a white or light-coloured shape behind it.
Dynamic Text (Job Data Fields)
Dynamic text values are automatically replaced with real job data from your feed.
In your design, use actual text labels such as “Job Title” to indicate placement.
Supported Fields
Element | Notes |
Job Title | Can be long (design for 2 lines, ~25–30 characters recommended) |
Location | Short text |
Salary | Optional field |
Company | Company name |
Call to Action | Such as “Apply Now” |
Best Practices
Plan layout for longer job titles.
Keep text readable across different screen sizes.
Use hierarchy to highlight key information.
Logo Placement
If you want to include a logo, add a placeholder in your design to indicate its position.
Option A: Logo with Background
Parameter | Specification |
Background Shape | Filled shape, such as a white rectangle or circle |
Purpose | Ensures visibility across different images |
Option B: Logo without Background
Parameter | Specification |
Placement | Empty space marked with “Logo” |
Requirement | Transparent SVG logo |
Best Practices
Use a background if logo visibility may be affected.
Consider campaign image variability when choosing placement.
Ensure logo remains clear and legible in all contexts.
